Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD) leader Edith Nawakwi is among the prominent persons rumored to make it into Edgar Lungu’s cabinet.

Nawakwi, an experienced politician and former Minister in different Portfolios among them Energy and Finance came third in the Presidential Election.

Nawakwi, lately known for her anti-goverment stance, perhaps surprisingly attended Lungu’s inauguration and later the state luncheon at State House.

And when asked if her party is courting the ruling PF, Nawakwi said it is time Zambians put the past behind and make sure everything that divided them is left behind as the nation looks at what unites the country.

Meanwhile, the Islamic Supreme Council of Zambia (ISCZ) has asked Zambians to give space to United Party for National Development (UPND) to grieve their loss, as pushing them to accept may not heal them.

ISCZ President Suzyo Zimba said the indication by the ZCID to engage all political parties in an urgent Indaba is a good initiative but untimely for UPND.

Zimba believes that the UPND has not yet recovered from the loss of the elections as well as petition.

He says it is for this reason that the scheduled ZCID Indaba should be pushed forward to allow the UPND to heal.
