Nampundwe beat City of Lusaka

NAMPUNDWE United at the weekend thumped FAZ Division One Zone One league leaders City of Lusaka in this Week 15 fixture played in Nampundwe to move into second position and cut City’s lead to just one point.
This win means Nampundwe are now on 28 points, one off leaders City with National Assembly thrust into third place after they drew 1-1 against Lusaka City Council (LCC).
In this encounter, Nampundwe took advantage of the home ground advantage  and scored a goal either side of the half-time break through Tenson Mumba on 37 minutes before Chimuka Mweemba sealed victory on 58 minutes with Dominic Mulenshi scoring a consolation goal for Ya-moto later on.
In other games, Slamu United lost  to Young Green Buffaloes with Panza Chiefs hammering Lundazi United 4-1while Kafue Celtic settled for a goalless draw with Petauke United.
Happy Hearts 1 Malaiti 0
Happy Hearts, coming from a 1-0 loss to Nampundwe, the Chilenje outfit bounced back with a  win over Zesco Malaiti with George Kalenga scoring an all important goal for Happy Hearts to move the team into fourth position on the log on 23 points.
Other fixtures saw Riflemen also record a goalless draw with Matero United, same as the Police College game against Paramilitary.

And in  Zone Two, ‘Stylish’ Roan United’s resurgence continued and at the weekend recorded a second straight win and this time, over Kalulushi Modern Stars.
Lyson Sikaonga’s brace in the second half was all the home team needed to collect a vital victory against the visitors with Roan now moving to third position with 26 points, one point behind second placed Gomes and five points adrift of league leaders Konkola Blades.

In Ndola, second placed Gomes and league leaders Konkola Blades played to a 1-1 draw in a hugely unanticipated game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Brian Chewe scored first for the visitors in the first half while Brian Bellingtone equalised for the home side before the break to share the spoils and see Blades move to 31 points while Gomes went to 27points.
From Kitwe’s Garden Park, fifth placed Kitwe United beat Copperbelt Buffaloes 2-1, with the Ndola side now going four games without a win and Kitwe moving to 22 points, at par with fourth placed Indeni, who silenced Chambishi 3-0 away.
Ndola United were beaten 1-0 away to Zesco Solwezi and the loss comes days after receiving a new kit from Voyagers Travel and Tours and remained on 21 points while Zesco Solwezi moved to 10 points.
The games involving Chingola Police against Zambia National Service (ZNS) Lwamfumu, as well as the one between Bresmar United against Mining Rangers were not played.
