Mpika man commits suicide after quarreling with his wife

A 23 YEAR OLD man of Makumbi village in Mpika has committed suicide following a marital dispute with his wife.

Muchinga Province commissioner of police Auxensio Daka has confirmed the incident which occurred Monday around 22.15 hours at Makumbi village.

Mr Daka has identified the dead man as Douglas Mapulanga and that he took his life by drinking an insecticide known as termic.

“The circumstances surrounding the matter are that Mr Mapulanga offered his wife , Lucia Wengela,a glass of juice containing herbs to drink, but she refused, and then she went to tell her parents about the ordeal. This angered Mr Mupulanga who then decided to take his life,” Mr Daka said.

He said Mr Mupulanga died at the Michael Chilufya Sata Hospital where he was rushed and that he has since been buried.
