Miner’s death halts mining at KCM

NKWETO MFULA, Chingola
KONKOLA Copper Mines (KCM) has halted operations at its Chililabombwe Deep Mining Project’s section where a miner died in an underground accident on Wednesday.This is barely two weeks after 50-year-old locomotive driver Benson Solochi, who was working for Rockcrete Company, a subcontractor of Master Mining Services (MMS) contracted by KCM, died in a blasting operation.
Both Copperbelt Commissioner of Police Charity Katanga and KCM management confirmed the death of Frederick Musonda, 52, yesterday.http://epaper.daily-mail.co.zm/
