Man stabs cousin after suspecting him of having an affair with his wife, Police say    

A 26 year old Rwandanese national identified as James Bahati has allegedly stabbed his male cousin of Lusaka’s Kabanana compound three times using a knife.

The incident happened after the victim identified as Jannel Chisanga aged 24 also of Kabanana Compound suspected that the suspect was having an extra marital affair with his wife.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo in a ststement to Mwebantu said the victim sustained stab wounds on the chest, back and on the left arm as a knife is alleged to have been used in the act.

She further revealed that the accident happened on Thursday at about 18:00 hours in Kabanana Compound.

“Brief facts are that the victim, Jannel Chisanga found a photo of his wife on the phone of the suspect, James Bahati which made him suspect his cousin of having an extra marital affair with his wife. The victim confronted the suspect and in the process, Bahati got a knife and stabbed him in the back, the chest and on the left arm and ran away,” Katongo said.

Katongo said the victim has been  issued with a medical report and is currently admitted to UTH.

Meanwhile Katongo has appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the suspect to report to any nearest police.
