Maid Who Stole Baby Nabbed

Police in Kitwe on the Copperbelt have apprehended a Lusaka maid who went missing with a six months old baby.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner Charity Katanga says the maid identified as Racheal Banda Banda was apprehended at Chisokone Market yesterday around 17 hours.

Mrs. Katanga explained that Racheal was spotted after moving from one restaurant to another with the child asking for food and asked why she disappeared with the child, her response was that she used to admire it.

She said the suspect has been detained at Kitwe Central Hospital and police has since reported the matter to Lusaka police where the issue of the missing child was reported.
