Lusaka lawyer to hang for killing wife

Lusaka High Court judge Chalwe Mchenga has sentenced Lusaka lawyer Colonel Paul Pandala Banda to death by hanging for murdering his wife.

The 65-year-old retired army officer allegedly shot and killed his wife Vivian on her birthday in October last year.

Col Banda’s children and other family members wept uncontrollably after judge Mchenga pronounced a death sentence on the accused.
