Lungu’s SONA Was Empty, Says Jack Mwiimba

 

Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the opposition United Party for National Development (UPND)Jack Mwiimbu says president Edgar Lungu’ State of the Nation Address (SONA) yesterday in Paliament was hollow.

Mwiimbu said nothing  necessary came out  in President Lungu’s opening speech to Parliament.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Mwiimbu said  many issues surrounding the country’s economical stability were not tackled.

He said infrastructure that need renovations have been left bear for a long time and yet he mentioned of the  construction of new roads.

Mwiimbu said  many entities surrounding the education sector had been left out  from the speech, arguing  that education is an important step for any developing country.

He has promised to review the speech thoroughly as the debate starts on Monday 19th September 2017.

The theme of the opening Parliament of the second session that was delivered by President Lungu  was “moving towards prosperous smart Zambia in peace and tranquility without leaving anyone behind”.
