Opposition UPND has charged that the poor turn up for President Lungu during his Copperbelt province tour is a sign that he is on his way out.

UPND explains that it is not suprised that the people of Copperbelt could not turn up for President Lungu saying the province is now under its control.

Information and Publicity Chairperson Divo Katete says President Lungu had to turn to markets when people snubbed his meetings.

Below is the press release:

PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU, AND THE PF TURNS TO MARKETS FOR A COVER UP.

The writings are on the wall, the Patriotic Front are on their way out, as evidenced by the failure of the party President, Ecl and the PF, to garner reasonable numbers at their public meetings.

The recent tour of the Copperblt Province by President Edgar Lungu, proved to be a very painful undertaking for him and an exercise in futility.

After a series of poorly attended public meetings, where the president ended up addressing school children, party cadres and government officials, the PF decided to find comfort in the markets and churches, in order to avoid further embarrassments.
Realising they could not attract people to their meetings, they had to take the meetings to the people. They started going round with megaphones calling and forcing people in the markets to assemble and meet the President, to the dismay of many marketeers. What an embarrassing state of affairs it turned out to be, for a party claiming to have copperbelt as their strong hold.

After this failed tour, it is very clear that PF, now understands that Copperbelt is no longer their stronghold but a full fledged UPND STRONG HOLD.

As UPND on the Copperbelt, we are not amazed by this turn of events, how else did President Edgar Lungu, and the PF, expect the people to behave?
Did they expect people to embrace them in the midst of so much evils :
– high unemployment levels.
– high poverty levels.
– no medicines in hospitals.
– poor agriculture policies.
– permanent closure of CBU, and other institutions.
-high corruption levels.
– high cost of living.
– no clear policies on street vending, and copper slug dams,
to mention but a few.

We are therefore exceedingly happy that our people on the copperbelt have refused to be taken for a ride, by President Edgar Lungu, and his patriotic front. They have refused to be paraded in poverty, to watch how fat the PF, MPs, Mayors, District commissioners and Ministers have become ” out of eating from the farm” while the people who put them in office are wallowing in poverty.

It was out of this pressure and the clear message that copperbelt was no longer with him, that President Edgar Lungu ended up disclosing their private policy of ” uubomba mwibala alya mwibala” to the general public. President Lungu, is not good at contending pressure, recently, again out of pressure in central province he confessed that he had actually lost the elections in 2015, and 2016 but refused to give in. Zambians are yet to hear more confessions from President Lungu, as the pressure continues to mount.

President Lungu, and the PF, must understand that, it is game over, the people of Zambia have decided. They are simply waiting for the right time to crack the whip. This time around they will not steal the people’s victory, because the people will speak with a much louder voice, ” they will vote in masses.”

HH WILL FIX IT.
