Lubinda Confident Of Scooping Kabwata With Ease

Long-serving Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda has delivered a perfect response to those alleging that he has overstayed in parliament pointing to the fact that he has always been overwhelmingly retained by his constituents.

Lubinda, who has served as MP with constituents retaining him on three different party tickets, is hitting the campaign trail for the fourth spell.

He said change in Kabwata was only in his opponents’ heads as indications on the ground spoke for themselves.

“I have been an MP for 15 years and 10 of those years have been in opposition and only on 5 of those I have been in government,” he said.

“I am part of a government that is delivering and all that development is visible in Kabwata so that change may only exist in their heads.”

He added: “All the time I have been elected by the people and overwhelmingly so.”

The Kabwata lawmaker served as a UPND MP from 2001 and later crossed over as an United Liberal Party lawmaker in 2006 before contesting the Patriotic Front in 2011 where he still is.
