Local Residents Scared Of Having A Mortuary In Batoka – Kasamu

Ngaumbe Village Headman in Batoka has complained that people do not want a mortuary to be constructed in the area.

In an interview with Byta FM News, Adamu Kasamu says the area had been given money and a plan to construct a mortuary following complaints that people had to take their deceased to Choma which is costly.

He said after having constructed the mortuary to almost window level, the people in the area destroyed the building.

Kasamu says people are scared to set up a mortuary near their homes.

He has since called on the Choma Municipal Council to help convince people in the neighbouring areas on the importance of having a mortuary in the community.

Kasamu explains that people spend about 300 to 500 Kwacha on transportation which will not be the case if a mortuary is put up in Batoka.
