Lifting Of Covid-19 Restrictions Opposed

Pharmaceutical Expert Jerome Kanyika has opposed the lifting of covid-19 restrictions by the Ministry of Health saying it has the potential to increase covid-19 infections in the country following threats of a looming fourth wave.
In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Kanyika says instead of lifting the restrictions, the Ministry of Health should have considered pushing for mandatory vaccination of front-line workers in different ministries and institutions.
Mr. Kanyika is concerned that currently only 3 percent of the country’s population is vaccinated which shows that there is a huge gap of those unvaccinated and has since called on the government to rescind its decision.
Last week government lifted the covid-19 restrictions to help reboot the economy which has been struggling.
