LET’S BOOST ZAMBIA’S TOURISM -CHUNGU

Government Parliamentary Chief Whip Steven Chungu has called for sustained effort to boost Zambia’s tourism.
And United Party for National Development – UPND Lufwanyama Member of Parliament Leonard Fungulwe says Zambia has a competitive advantage because it is rich in nature tourism.
This came to light when the law makers visited the Taj Mahal in AGRA, India, where Chilanga Member of Parliament Maria Langa called on Indian tourists to think of visiting Zambia.
The three legislators are part of a delegation led by Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini who held meetings with the Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu and Speaker of the Lower House Sumitra Mahajan in New Delhi.
They were accompanied by Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga.
And in an interview with India’s Parliament Television, Dr. Matibini said the decision by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, to visit the Victoria Falls, in Livingstone during his three-day State Visit to Zambia early this year, should encourage more Indian tourists to visit Zambia.
Dr. Matibini said the Victoria Falls allows tourists to carry out bungee jumping while others dive on the natural swimming pool fondly known as the Devil’s Pool.
This is contained in a statement made available to ZNBC news by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.
