Leaked Memo: UPND Cabinet To Comprise 90% Tonga Speaking Ministers

A leaked memo suggesting a list of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s cabinet has been circulated. The cabinet comprises 90 percent Tonga speaking lawmakers. The UPND stronghold is Southern Province where most of its MPs will be drawn after election on August 11.

Trusted lawyer Jack Mwiimbu is set to become Prime Minister as a compromise to the region which has demonstrated a lot of loyalty to the party since its founding in 1998.

Mwiimbu’s position is said to be a good balance considering a northerner, Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, will be occupying the second most top place in the party.
