LAZ team scoops Standard Chartered Trophy and will visit Liverpool FC in the UK

Standard Chartered Bank hosted the Road to Anfield, Standard Chartered Trophy soccer tournament on Saturday 30th September, which saw the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) emerge as winners. The team wins the GRAND prize to visit Liverpool Football Club in the UK.
The LAZ team scooped the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Anfield, the home of Liverpool Football Club (LFC) in the UK, all expenses paid. The team will travel to the UK in December, where they will receive ‘star treatment’ including; the unique opportunity to watch a live LFC match at Anfield Stadium, meet some LFC football legends, tour of the stadium and the LFC museum, amongst others.
The Road to Anfield international five-a-side football competition is now in its fifth year in Zambia. 40 teams battled it out at the Futsal Football Academy in Rhodes park on Saturday.
Speaking at the event, Herman Kasekende, CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Zambia, said, “Standard Chartered is passionate about football, about our clients, about our staff, about Liverpool Football Club and about the LFC fans in Zambia. And that is why we keep organizing this futsal tournament, where teams formed from our customer base and key stakeholders battle it out for an opportunity to win the Grand prize to Anfield.”
He added, “We will continue to use our LFC sponsorship to raise the Bank’s profile and build greater affinity with potential new and existing customers. Huge congratulations to the Law Association of Zambia for taking part and emerging victorious. I wish them all the best as they travel to Anfield in December.”
Celebrities present at the tournament included Pompi, Standard Chartered Bank’s Digital Bank Ambassador; and Racheal Nachula, Shepolopolo striker – who both came out to support the teams.
