Kope scores in Chilanga despite losing in a parliamentary by election

Lusaka (10-06-18) Resident Pastor Chilanga’s Reformed Church of Zambia has commended United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) parliamentary Francis Mwamba Kope for fulfilled his campaign promises despite not elected as Member of Parliament.
Sam Kandule Phiri told Journalists after the church in Chilanga on Sunday that what matters in politics is the attitude and behaviour of the person that make promise.
He explained that many politicians have been making promises but have never gone back to look in the eyes of the people to whom the promised were made.
“For us, we know politicians to be people that only make promises for sake of seek votes. But this is not what we have witnessed with Kope who out of his own will be to visit the church and made an election pledge.”
He said weeks after election, he has come back to fulfil the promises he he made in the Church.
He said this is a rare experience that a politician has come to fulfill his promises.
“The lesson we have learnt here is that, to be a politician is not about pedaling lies but service delivery to the people.”
He added that the promises made to people should always be fulfilled whether or not the person making the promise have achieved what he was looking for at the time he was making the promise.
He said the donation Kope has made to the church will go along way in assisting assisting the boys brigade to whom the pledge was made.
Pastor Phiri is of the view that Chilanga today is facing so many changes that need attention.
He said in the past many promises have been made but little or nothing has been fulfilled.
He hope the promises that was made during the last parliamentary by election will be fulfilled by the promises.
On Sunday, Kope went to visit the RCZ in Chilanga to not only pray and thank the people that voted for him in the just ended Chilanga by election but make the donation to the promise he made to the boys brigade to purchase the music instruments.
Kope said in an interview that he has great passion for young people and would do everything possible to ensure that the youths are made busy to avoid engaging themselves in vices.
He said the youths are the future of any nation and he would be be part and parcel to the development of the youths.
He said he has lots of project which he want to introduce for youths not only in Chilanga but also other part of the country.
This is part of the projects we have in UPPZ to keep the youths busy.
Among the projects UPPZ has for the youths are go back to school campaign, empowering youths and women in business and general land empowerment for the vulnerable.
