Kapiri Accident Claims 3 Lives

The Zambia Police says three people died in the Kapiri Mposhi road traffic accident with 11 others injured.

Police Service spokesperson Esther Katongo named the culprit as Robert Kafunda aged 40 years of Kamuchanga Mufulira who was driving a Nissan vannette heading from North to South with 14 passengers on board.

Katongo explained that the accident happened due to excessive speed hence the driver lost control of the motor vehicle which later overturned several times off the road.

“The deceased who died on the spot have been identified as Given Nayame aged 31 of Kamuchanga Compound, Juliet Mutambo aged 43 of Kalengwa Kalulushi  and a female juvenile  Precious Simushi aged between 4-5 months and the bodies are in Kapiri Mposhi District mortuary while  the injured  are admitted to Kapiri Mposhi District Hospital,” she said.
