Kambwili Linked To Saviour Chishimba ACC Complaint

United Progressive Party president Saviour Chishimba is allegedly working with former Information Minister Chishimba Kambwili in funnelling information to the Anti Corruption Commission.

According to highly placed sources Kambwili has been cheering on Chishimba to discredit some sitting cabinet ministers in order to test whether President Edgar Lungu can act on the information.

The source said that Chishimba and Kambwili are hitting back for the manner former Sports Minister Vincent Mwale dissolved the National Youth Development Council board that was headed by the UPP leader.

“If you remember Kambwili had appointed Saviour Chishimba as National Youth and Development when he was Minister of Youth and Sport but the board was dissolved by Vincent Mwale when he took over from Kambwili,” said the source.

“The two have teamed up especially after Kambwili was fired and he wants to see if President Lungu can act on his words of firing corrupt ministers. Chishimba has been naming names like he did in the Malawi maize scandal and now he has named Kampyongo (Stephen), Panji Kaunda and Moses Mawere.”

The UPP leader filed a report with the Anti Corruption Commission over the alleged corrupt manner the Bus Empowerment program is being mishandled.

Chishimba said that the program was wrestled from being overseen by the Public and Private Bus Drivers Association to individual ministers and a named official.
