Kambwili Is Free To Join UPND, Says Mwila

The political ‘ghost’ of expelled Patriotic Front(PF) founding member Chishimba Kambwili is still haunting the governing party, with Secretary Generdal Davies Mwila challenging him to withdraw the court case so that he defends his Roan Constituency seat in a by-election.

And Mwila says the PF can only wish Kambwili good luck if he decides to join hands with the opposition United Party for National Development(UPND).

Briefing the press, Mwila wondered why Kambwili decided to challenge his expulsion in court if he is really popular in Luanshya’s Roan Constituency.

” Kambwili has time to withdraw the court action so that we meet in Roan. He(Kambwili) exaggerates his popularity but the people of Luanshya are behind the PF because of its pro-poor policies,” Mwila said amid jubilation from PF cadres.

He said it is his prayer that the Roan Constituency seat is declared vacant so that the ruling party fields a loyal member of the party.

Mwila however, said the PF is ready to defend its decision of expelling Kambwili.

He announced that State Counsel Erick Silwamba and others will represent the governing party  in court.

Asked whether the party is not troubled by the possible alliance between UPND president Hakainde Hichilema and Kambwili following the later visiting the former at Mukobeko Maximum Security Prison, Mwila said the ruling party is not bothered  about that.

“Kambwili is free to visit HH because he is not our party member. Well, if he wishes to join UPND then we will wish him all the best,” he said.

And Mwila said Kambwili’s apology to the Tonga people for  insulting them at the climax of the  last election campaigns was long overdue.

He said the PF founding member could have apologized to the Tonga people a long time ago.

“The mouth is the biggest enemy of Kambwili,” the PF Secretary General mocked the Roan lawmaker.
