Kambwili, Chishimba Not in Talks….as UPP Urges Govt To Stop Exploiting Farmers

United progressive People(UPP) National Media Director Philip Matavu says there has been no negotiations between party president Saviuor Chishimba and his long time colleague Dr Chishimba Kambwili for possible political partnership, following his expulsion from the governing Patriotic Front(PF).
And Matavu says the PF is killing farmers following a reduction in the maize floor price.
Speaking in an interview with Tumfweko, Matavu said farmers the reduction of the floor price of maize is a direct assault of money because it has been done in complete disregard of a high production cost endured by farmers.
Matavu said most of the farmers, especially in rural areas are suffering and failing to produce therefore the reduction of the floor price of maize will compound their misery.

“Every Government is supposed to take care of its farmer very well because they are the ones that produce food for the nation. They feed the nation so they are not supposed to be exploited. If you under pay farmers how are they going to produce a number harvest?” he wondered.
Matavu said UPP recognizes efforts made by farmers therefore it will address their concerns when it forms government by God’s grace.
He said Copper is a diminishing asset therefore farmers must be well empowered to make sure they produce number harvest.
And asked to confirm rumours that dismissed Roan Member of Parliament Kambwili and Dr Chishimba have been meeting for a possible political reunion, Matavu trashed such talks.
He said if his memory serves him right I has never seen Dr Chishimba and Kambwili together since the formation of UPP.
“I am not aware about that. It is not true?” he angrily said.
Asked whether the party can accommodate Kambwili if he approached the secretariat, the UPP National Media Director said it is too early for people to start speculating about Kambwili’s future because he has just been dismissed from the party he sacrificed a lot.
” It is too early to start talking about that. The man has just been dismissed and he is retrospecting so can you ask me another question,”
