Kabwe Warriors return to winning ways as Mutondo Stars stun ZANACO

Kabwe Warriors returned to winning ways on Sunday after going five games without a win.

The Magnificent People’s team beat Nkana 1-0 at Chilata thanks to a Ocean Mushure first half penalty.

The win sees Kabwe Warriors move to seventh place and remain in contention for a place in the ABSA Cup ahead of the deciding week 17.

The loss for the record 13 time MTN Super League Champions, Nkana means they remain second from bottom with just 13 points after 16 rounds of matches.

Elsewhere, ZANACO suffered their second defeat in as many games losing 1-0 away to Mutondo Stars.

Osmond Chita’s second half strike was enough to hand EverGreen the much needed maximum points. Mutondo have now won their last three games and are unbeaten in four matches.

The win sees Mutondo leapfrog Zanaco on the log table as they move up to eighth place with 24 points.
