India, Turkey, Indonesia confident of Zambia prospering under President Lungu

INDIAN President Narendra Modi has expressed confidence that under the leadership of His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, Zambia will move further ahead on a path of progress and development.

President Modi says India and Zambia enjoy long-standing, historically close and cordial relations hence he looked forward to further deepening and strengthening the partnership between the two countries.

President Modi said this in a congratulatory message to President Lungu on his re-election as President.

“On behalf of the Government and people of India, I extend to you my warm felicitations on your successful re-election as the President of the Republic of Zambia. I wish you a successful tenure and assure you of India’s full support in your endeavours to provide a peaceful and prosperous future for the people of Zambia,” President Modi said.

In another congratulatory message, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has expressed confidence that Zambia will move towards a bright future under the leadership of President Lungu.

President Erdo?an says Turkey attaches great importance to developing relations with Zambia describing the country as strong in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region.

The Turkish President says he is convinced that the existing friendly cooperation between Turkey and Zambia will further develop to higher levels for the mutual interest of the two peoples.

“I congratulate Your Excellency on behalf of my nation and my own for your election to the Presidency of Zambia. I take this opportunity to reiterate my best wishes for Your Excellency’s health and happiness and peace and prosperity of the friendly people of Zambia,” President Erdo?an said.

And Indonesian President Joko Widodo says the re-election of President Lungu is a well –deserved recognition to his outstanding achievement for his service to Zambia.

President Widodo says he has every confidence that under President Lungu’s tenure, the friendship between Indonesia and Zambia will be enhanced for the benefit of the two peoples.

“Your Excellency, the Government and people of the Republic of Indonesia join me to convey to you our warmest greetings and congratulations on your reassumption of office as President of the Republic of Zambia,” President Widodo said.
