Indeni Oil Refinery shuts down

The Indeni Oil Refinery has temporarily shut down for 12 days from  June 17 to 28th, 2016.

The temporal shut down of the refinery has been necessitated by the late arrival of crude feed stock cargo.

Ministry of Energy and Water Development Permanent Secretary Emeldah Chola says the crude feed stock cargo that was earlier schedule to be in the country on JUNE 15 is now expected to arrive tomorrow.

And Brigadier General-Retired Chola has assured the nation that there were will be no fuel shortage following the temporal shut-down of the Indeni Oil Refinery as the country has enough stocks of fuel to carter for the period.

She says in addition to the fuel in storage tanks, about 600 trucks of petrol and diesel are awaiting to be offloaded at Ndola, Lusaka, Mpika and Solwezi depots.

Brigadier General Chola said delivery of fuel at the Mongu depot is also in process, pending its official commissioning next month.
