Inadequate Funding Negatively Affecting Implementation Of Key Policies

Development Analyst Lewis Mwape says lack of adequate funding by government has negatively affected implementation of key policies such the decentralization policy and seventh national development plan.

In an interview with Phoenix News, Mr. Mwape says government has failed to mainstream most of its policies across all government departments due to lack of resources and weak public financial management.

Mr. Mwape adds that lack of accountability for finances has also impacted negatively on implementation of some important government policies and developmental projects.

He is therefore urging government to review its financial management systems in 2021 to allow for full implementation of government policies.
