HPCZ will not compromise on standards – Mujajati

A latest release of the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) compliance monitoring program has revealed that out 51 health training institutions inspected only 6 were complaint to laid down standards.

The council’s inspection, which was conducted across the Country on the 30th of June this year, revealed that 31 institutions were only partially complaint while 14 were non compliant.

Council Registrar Aaron Mujajati says common violations associated with the institutions his council inspected include ,non registration certificate from the higher education authority for universities.

Dr. Mujajati says no certificate from statutory institutions such as the Zambia Revenue Authority among other common violations.

And Dr. Mujajati has warned that the council will not compromise on standards, hence the need for all health training institutions to improve the quality of training they are providing.

Dr. Mujajati said this today during the stakeholders sensitization meeting in Lusaka.

Meanwhile Council  chairperson Sekelani Banda has called for policy dialogue with training institutions so that the council and the health training institutions can achieve a common goal.

Professor Banda said in his welcome remarks that  the council is therefore, keen to strengthen cooperation with health institutions.

And speaking at the same event ,Health Professions Council  of Zambia counselor Frank Lungu also warned health institutions against offering some trainings without the approval from the council.
