HH visits detained Kambwili

UPND leader Hakahinde Hichilema this afternoon visited NDC Consultant Chishimba Kambwili who was this morning detained at Woodlands Police Station.

Hichilema, commonly known as HH, was accompanied by UPND chairperson for mobilisation and strategy Sylvia Masebo, Lusaka Province chairperson Obvious Mwaliteta and other UPND party officials.

“We sympathise with our brother, Hon Chishimba Kambwili and we stand with him and most importantly encouraged him to be strong,” the opposition leader said in a brief statement following his visit.

Kambwili, who is Roan PF Member of Parliament, has been arrested and charged with 37 counts of being in possession of money reasonably suspected to the proceeds of crime and two counts of obtaining pecuniary advantage.

The former Information Minister has been denied police bond and is expected to appear in court tomorrow, Friday.
