United Party For National Development upnd president Hakainde Hichilema has opposed President Edgar Lungu’s request to turkey to help Zambia repay a 3 billion united states dollars Eurobond it borrowed from international lenders.

Mr. Hichilema says he has been vindicated following his past comments that the patriotic front(pf) is dragging the country into mountain of debts.

Addressing journalists at a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Hichilema says his persistent talks that the pf is taking Zambia into a debt trap have come to pass, saying Zambia’s debt could have been manageable had government  listened to what he was saying.

Mr. Hichilema says this is a clear indication that government has failed to attract donor money describing it as a junk government.

And Mr. Hichilema has urged Zambians to reclaim and defend the countries democracy.

He has expressed worry at the spate of issues that had ravaged the country such  as the recent fire at various markets in the country, high tax rate, and unemployment.

He highlighted that unemployment has continued to be a major economic challenge for the many youths in the country because the economy was failing.

The UPND president has observed that the patriotic fronts pf inability to manage the countries affairs is causing untold misery among the Zambian citizens.

And Mr. Hichilema has accused the patriotic front of buying off its councilors with the aim of  undermining the party.

He says the named councilors were offered a lot money to defect to the patriotic front.

Hichilema also disclosed that the party is aware that President Edgar Lungu wants to buy off two of its members of parliament.
