….Kawana says the choice of Nalumango was agreed by alliance partners
Zambia24 (25-05-2021) The opposition UPND Zambia We Want Alliance partners are not bothered by the issue of the UPND fielding both the presidential aspirant and the running mate in the coming general election on Thursday 12th August 2021.
UPND/ZWW Alliance Media Director Thabo Kawama told journalists at a Tuesday 25th May 2021 Press Briefing that the alliance partners joined the pact to help liberate the people of Zambia back from the Patriotic Front (PF).
A straight-talking Kawana reiterated the ZWW mission toward liberating Zambians from a lot of teething challenges, through action and no amount of pressure will derail it.
Besides answering the call of a united opposition which the people wanted Kawana clarified that the alliance partners are not after positions but service to the people.
Despite the lies of the UPND ZWW Alliance crumbling being told by the PF, the Media Director assured the Zambian people that the alliance is getting stronger than before each passing day.
Kawana regretted the PF propaganda which had bad gone into extreme desperation to an extent of grafting lies before innocent people faking newspapers headlines and publications.
He said the kind of lies being witnessed in Zambia today can only be told by the people who are experts in spreading falsehood.
Kawana expressed concern over the prison vote which he suspects the PF agents through Commissioner-General Chisela Chileshe want to steal.
He recalled that in June 2020, during the commissioning of 70 houses for correctional officers witnessed by Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu and former Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo, the Commissioner-General publicly announced that the opposition will not be allowed to vote.
He wondered why the Commissioner-General had to be the one to defend President Lungu’s pardon of prisoners.
He said the suggestion by the commissioner general that the release of prisoners meant the PF is losing votes is suggestive of the political mischief that correctional authorities interpret President Lungu’s pardon as strengthening the opposition vote.
He wondered why the commissioner-general felt the prison vote is for the PF alone.
Kawana expressed disappointment at the loss of drugs costing 166 million, which got procured but never reached any medical facility.
“This act is equal to killing citizens who cannot afford to buy the medicines. The act of stealing under the PF is known and domesticated under the PF and this explains why there are no arrests taking place.”
He added that the people behind the theft must be brought to book and ensure that the sickening acts are not allowed.
He warned those used to stealing to face the full wrath of the law once the UPND ZWW Alliance led by Hakainde Hichilema.
Kawana pointed out that the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has no mandate to stop the rallies, on account of containing Coronavirus (covid 19) pandemic.
“No ban has been made other than the one announced by the PF themselves. The only reason why the PF does not want rallies is because of lost popularity, and now scared of being booed by the people.
He said holding rallies for the PF would mean more booing for the PF and hence the decision to stop the rallies.
The UPND ZWW Alliance Media Director clarified that the people claimed to have been abandoned by the UPND is a lie as the people had earlier been linked to an independent presidential aspirant.
