HH is our candidate, party constitution has no limit – UPND

Hakainde Hichilema is our presidential candidate for 2021, UPND National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango has announced.
The UPND is however expected to hold a general conference to elect it’s leaders including the president but Nalumango announcement means the president position will be reserved for one Hakainde Hichilema who has led the party since 2006 without seeking fresh mandate.
Nalumango who by press time was addressing thousands of UPND Supporters in Solwezi where the opposition party is holding a card renewal, said Hichilema will led the party to the 2021 elections.
She said the UPND constitution has no limitation as to how many times one can contest the elections like the republican constitution where one can only stand twice.
Nalumango said the UPND will not substitute HH because he is a striker who has been scoring for the party. She said Hichilema as the party is concerned has only contested three elections and won two – lost 2011, won in 2015 and 2016.
She told cheering crowds that at this moment UPND cannot make a substitute. She told the rally that UPND overwhelmingly won the 2016 elections hence their petition.
Nalumango told Solwezi residents to take advantage of the next elections to kick out the PF leaders whom he described as thieves.
