The Ministry Of Higher Education has expressed ignorance on the resolve by Copperbelt University –CBU- unionized workers to halt all academic activities at the learning institution until they are paid their delayed November salaries.

Yesterday, unionized workers at CBU resolved to suspend all academic activities until university management pays them their delayed November and December 2020 salaries by Friday this week failure to which they will take action.

But Ministry of Higher Education Permanent Secretary Kayula Siame has disclosed that government-funded Copperbelt University last week and expects that by now, the problem of salaries for staff would have been resolved.

She, however, said her ministry is not aware that unionized workers at CBU have resolved to suspend all academic activities owing to the fact that CBU was funded last.
