Govt advised to prioritize agriculture in 2018 budget

Government has been urged to focus on promoting the agriculture sector in the 2018 national budget.

People’s Alliance for Change president Andyford Banda is encouraging the government to ensure that its economic diversification agenda of moving towards the agriculture sector is reflected in the 2018 national budget.

Mr. Banda is further urging government to align next year’s national budget to job creation to enable most young people have jobs thereby reducing the high poverty levels in the country.

He adds that government should also support the manufacturing sector especially the steel industry which he says has the potential to contribute to economic development.
