Government Justifies Huge Cost Gaps In Construction Of Frederick Chiluba And Kafulafuta Toll Plazas

By Logic Lukwanda

Government has justified the huge cost disparities in the construction of the Frederick Chiluba toll plaza in Manyumbi and the Kafulafuta toll plaza on the Copperbelt.

The Frederick Chiluba toll plaza constructed by a local contractor cost K24 million while the kafulafuta toll plaza build by Avic international cost around K56 million, according to impeccable sources within the road development agency.

But permanent secretary in the ministry of housing and infrastructure development, Charles Mushota Says the costs are different because the toll plazas are different in sizes.

And engineer Mushota confirmed to phoenix news that Avic international has been single sourced to build various toll plazas because of the capacity that the Chinese construction company possesses.
