Free eye checks at OYDC

The Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) is calling on athletes and members of the public to participate in the forthcoming free eye medical care services and provision of eye glasses scheduled from the 12th   to the 18th of March, 2017.

The OYDC has partnered with “One Sight” to offer free eye clinic services to athletes and members of the community and is targeting 3,000 people to be served.

OYDC Health and Education Officer Lyson Zulu, says that there will be a free eye checks to be conducted at the OYDC on the 3rd and 4th of March 2017 where screening and registration will be done from 09:00 to 15:00 hours.

Zulu, has disclosed that those who will be found with sight problems will be given free medical advice and in some cases will be given free health glasses aimed at improving their sight. He further added that even those with genuine and valid prescriptions from eye clinics will be given the glasses.

Since inception in 2010, athletes have been receiving trainings in Olympic Values, HIV/AIDS and most importantly free health checks which include Dentals, Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat checks.
