Four people die in road traffic accident in Choma, Police say

FOUR people have died while 16 others sustained serious injuries after a Rosa mini bus they were travelling in collided head-on with an oncoming truck in Choma District of Southern Province.
The accident occurred on Friday at 18:30 hours at Cheelo area about one km south of Muzoka rail crossing.
It happened when the driver of the Rosa identified as Dout Chimbotu aged 61 of Kapiri Mposhi District was improperly overtaking at a curve and in the process collided head on with an oncoming truck.
Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo in a statement said the driver of the bus sustained fatal head injuries and died on the spot after being trapped in the vehicle while three others died upon arrival at Choma General Hospital.
Katongo said the accident involved a Rosa bus registration number ACZ 9912 and a Howo truck (bouser) registration number BAF 9963 which was driven by Brian Chisokota aged 27 years of Kafue District who sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Pemba Hospital.
