Four people die in a road traffic accident along the Kitwe-Ndola dual carriage way

FOUR people have died in a Road Traffic Accident along the Kitwe-Ndola dual carriage way.

The accident happened yesterday at about 01:50hrs.

And police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has confirmed the development in a statement.

He said the accident involved a lone Mitsubish Pajero registration No.ACZ 7146 WHICH was being driven by Lombe Mulenga Francis aged 38years old of House No.22, Mwasumina road, Itawa area in Ndola.

Hamoonga said the victim sustained head and multiple body injuries and died on the spot while the vehicle was extensively damaged.

“Also involved were three female passengers who died on spot after the vehicle they were travelling in careered off the road and went and hit into a tree and overturned due to excessive speed,” Hamoonga said.

He has identified the victims as Masiku Nawa aged 25years of House No.3186 Macha road in Ndola who sustained multiple body injuries and died on the spot.

Others are Christine Chiteta, 26 years of age of House No.69 Mwasumina crescent, Itawa area in Ndola who sustained multiple body injuries and died on spot, as well as Ngosa Patricia Chilufya aged 30 years of House No.49, Tanzania road, Northrise Ndola who sustained multiple body injuries and died on spot.

“The bodies of the four deceased persons are in Ndola Central Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmodern,” said Hamoonga.
