Ex UPND deputy SG says PF is here to stay for more decades to come

By Francis Maingaila
Lusaka (20-05-18) Former United Party for National Development (UPND) deputy  secretary general Captain Walusiku Lyambela says the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) is to stay on in power longer than expected thanks to the ongoing development taking place across the country.
Captain Walusiku Lyambela told journalists when she featured at the PF Interactive Forum on Sunday that the people are happy with the development agenda the PF have introduced in Zambia and the development taking place is there for everyone to see.
Captain Lyambela sees no reason why the people of Zambia will vote the PF out of the government after it has performed well to the satisfaction of the electorates.
She said the UPND which should have been an alternative government has out lived it’s usefulness because it is composed of cry babies.
“Instead of providing good checks and balances to  the sitting government, the UPND which is the largest opposition party in the country spend most her it’s precious time perpetrating hatred against government officials especially president Edgar Lungu.”
He added that the UPND is failing  to provide the much desired qualitable leadership because it’s politics is centred on hatred.
According to Captain Lyambela, the PF is a preferred party because it has delivered almost all it’s campaign promises to the people and the evidence is there for everyone through the development which taking place countrywide under the watchful eye of president Lungu.
Unlike other political parties that  are regional, Captain Lyambela suggested the PF has manage to deliver the promised development every where because it’s leadership has a national character.
Captain Lyambela urged the people that want continued development in the country to embrace the ruling PF.
Citing an example for Lealui where the latest promise made during the just ended by election was fulfilled Captain Lyambela said what is happening in Lealui at the moment is a reflection of what is happening elsewhere where the PF has been embraced.
She said unless Chilanga embrace the PF, the constituency will continue to wallow in acute poverty.
“What has perpetuated the poverty in Chilanga  is it’s continued embrace  of the opposition.”
She added that just like the people of Lealui that have been greeted with development after embracing the ruling party, so will the people of Chilanga.
She asked the people of Chilanga to try the PF by voting for it’s Candidate in the forthcoming by election and see how development will boom over night.
She also advised the people that still have hope in the opposition to think twice because there is no hope in the opposition.
Captain Lyambela particularly singled out the opposition UPND that it is a fast finishing party.
Since 2006, Captain Lyambela claimed, she has tried vain to launder the opposition UPND.
She said the UPND did not perform well after the 2006 saga that saw it’s former vice president Sakwiba Sikota to be sidelined in favor of it the current party president. Hakainde  Hichilema.
She however clarified  that withr help, the situation normalised and the UPND was able to get some seats.
Now that she left the opposition, Captain Lyambela doubt the UPND has the capacity to grow into the party that can defeat the PF and form the next government.
She further suggested that the UPND is no longer a factor under Hichilema has no capacity to win  election unless there is a change of leadership.
“The amount of hatred in the party is so grave that it is suffocating the chance of getting into power.”
She also decried lack of  intrapart democracy in the opposition UPND.
She said the only people appointed to the top leadership on the opposition UPND are those close to the party president.
She said the UPND has never had election where the party leadership has sought mandate to lead the party from the party.
As the status quo stands, Captain Lyambela explained all position are appointed by the president.
