Dr Mumba remains MMD party president, Elizabeth Chitika says

MMD National Secretary for the Nevers Mumba led faction Elizabeth Chitika says Dr Mumba remains party president as he was acquitted from his Canadian case.And Chitika says the party leadership will now swing into action and rebuild itself after next month’s High Court judgment on who the real party president is.She appealed to the public not to entertain any circulating statements or commentaries aimed at misleading the masses that Dr Mumba’s political career has come to an end.In her statement today, Chitika explained that Dr Mumba was received an absolute discharge in the Canadian case and that his case was disposed off as no conviction was recorded.“Dr Mumba our Party President remains the leader of our Party since the judgment in the Canadian case was handed down on the 11th September 2018 at the Lusaka Magistrate Court in his favor. Dr Mumba received an absolute discharge in this case,” said Chitika.“The meaning of an Absolute discharge is a disposition in which no conviction is recorded. In simple terms he was acquitted and he is not answerable to any charge. Our President is finally free and the whole Canadian fiasco which started six years ago has come to an end.” Post Views: 74
