Defence Minister Urges Zambians To Tone Down On Hate Speech

PF ChamaDefence Minister Davies Chama says the country should tone down on hate speech in the spirit of Independence Day celebrations.

Chama, who is immediate PF secretary General was in the heat of the heated election exchanges and may have had time to reflect on the damage it did to the country.

He said the country needed to heal in the post election period and use civil language toward each other.

Chama said the internet was being abused to peddle falsehoods against some leaders without considering the damage.

“There is need to stop this hate speech by most of you young people. Most of the time you go on the internet, you will find hate speech that has the potential to divide the country,” he said.

With the election season over, the tension amongst some political players has not subsided with some of the solutions being touted being a Commission of Inquiry.
