Davies Chama Inspects Zambian Mission in Lesotho

Minister of Defence, Hon. Davies Chama started his day of activities in Lesotho by inspecting the Guard of Honour mounted by the Zambian component in the SADC Preventive Mission in the Kingdom of Lesotho (SAPMIL).

President Edgar Lungu, in his capacity as Chairperson of the Organ on Defence and Politics and Peace cooperation, recently appointed (Retired) Chief Justice Mathew Ngulube as SADC Oversight Committee Chairperson.

President Lungu also appointed (retired) Brig.General Timothy Kazembe as head of SAPMIL.

Zambia has 56 defence personnel as part of the SAPMIL.

Chama is in the Kingdom of Lesotho to witness the taking over of leadership of SAPMIL.

Chama will also witness the inauguration of Brigadier General Kazembe as Head of SAPMIL.

He is accompanied by Home Affairs Permanent Secretary, Dr. Chileshe Mulenga, Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa with extra accreditation to Lesotho, Emmanuel Mwamba, Zambia Army Commander, Lt-Gen Paul Mihova, and Inspector General of Police, Kakoma Kanganja.
