Cracks Emerge In PF’s Kitwe District

The Patriotic Front in Kitwe District Executive has cracked with most members of the executive complaining of not being empowered despite many sacrifices made to the party.

Some members have disclosed that the party is no longer inspiring and that only a few individuals were benefiting and are active while the rest have taken back seats.

The executive members are complaining that the top leadership in Lusaka has neglected structures on the ground a move that has seen majority of those in the executive abandoning their roles.

“If you try to check among ourselves, point at even four of those you think is active in the executive, what do you think has led to this? People are tired because most of us thought after elections things will be better but it seems we are getting worse,” one of the executive members who spoke on condition of anonymity said.

The members said the executive has remained into a shell with only the district Chairman and his vice that doubles as Mayor and Deputy Mayor respectively while the rest are quiet.

“Our friends that are lucky managed to get some contracts and are already doing something but for us all we are told day in day out is that we are working with either Chishimba Kambwili or Harry Kalaba and this is frustrating especially that we have nothing to point at in terms of benefits, only those in Lusaka are better placed,” said the official.

The PF has enjoyed tremendous support on the Copperbelt but the structures seem to be falling apart after Kambwili emerged with his National Democratic Alliance.
