Continued Disregard Of The Law At Controversial Forest Reserve Number 27 Disappointing.

An Environmental Activist, Robert Chimambo is disappointed that government has decided to go ahead and clear part of the controversial forest reserve number 27 despite the issue still being under dispute.

In an interview with phoenix news, Mr Chimambo claims that the Zambia National Service was seen on Sunday last week clearing part of the forest with earthmoving equipment without the authority of the Zambia Environmental Management Agency-ZEMA- and the Water Management Authority-WARMA.

Mr Chimambo further indicates that the move is illegal and that under the town and country act the people that directed the Zambia national service to clear the forest are breaking the law with impunity.

Efforts to get Lands Minister Jean Kapata failed as her mobile phone was switched off.
