Choma Residents protest

IMG-20160814-WA0003Choma Residents today, Sunday protested against the delay in releasing results for the Thursday’s general elections.

The Residents who suspected to be supporters of the opposition UPND went to Lusaka, Livingstone road opposite the cemetery where they burnt tyres preventing the flow of traffic.

Motorists had to use alternative roads.

They attributed the delay to a scheme of trying to stole the results for their candidate Hakainde Hichilema.

The Electoral Commission of Zambia ( ECZ ) only released the results for Choma Central Constituency this evening. Hichilema polled over 47,706 against Edgar Lungu’s 5, 065

The Police who rashed to the scene quickly brought the situation under control. There was no damage to motor vehicles or property recorded.

Southern province Police Commissioner confirmed the incidence  said that police patrols have since been intesified as no stone will be left unturned in pursuit of the law breakers.

THe commissioner has since  appealed to all peace loving Zambians to report all culprits to the police.
