Chilufya directs HPCZ to suspend licensure exams

Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya has directed the Health Professional Council of Zambia to immediately suspend the licensure examinations and issue temporal practicing licenses to the 200 doctors that have graduated.

Dr. Chilufya has told Journalists in Lusaka that government has revised the policy that introduced licensure examinations for health professionals.

He says his Ministry will recruit in excess of 200 medical doctors who will be posted to various training sites as interns.

Dr. Chilufya has assured the public that all medical doctors who graduated eight months ago and are waiting for the licensure exams will start practicing immediately.

He says the Health Professional Council of Zambia will start tomorrow start issuing the doctors with temporal practicing licenses and that the Human Resource Management at the Ministry of Health will start processing the recruitment of the 200 Medical doctors.
