Buffaloes, ZESCO continue battle for title as Queens Academy are officially relegated 

The battle for the FAZ Women’s Super Division title has continued to be tight with both the Challengers ZESCO Ndola Girls and the defending Champions, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club maintaining their fine form. 

Buffaloes saw off YASA Queens in the morning via a 3-0 scoreline to go 3 points clear only for ZESCO Ndola Girls to match the scoreline in their game against Red Arrows. 

Kabange Mupopo, Agness Phiri and Maweta Chilenga scored for Green Buffaloes against stubborn YASA Queens. 

ZESCO Ndola Girls’ got their goals through Dorothy Daka, Penelope Mulubwa and Fridah Mukoma. 

Elsewhere, Zanaco Ladies avenged their first leg loss to Nkwazi Queens as they hammered the Zambia Police sponsored outfit, 4-0 away at Edwin Imboela Stadium. 

Esther Simupamba netted a hat-trick while Mercy Mwenya chipped in with a goal. 

At Independence Stadium, ZISD edged Queens Academy 4-3 thanks to a Lungowe Namasiku hat-trick. 

Trident Queens boosted their chances of survival as they beat Police Dove Queens 1-0 thanks to a Margaret Mulenga lone strike. 

Indeni Roses and Elite Ladies played to a goalless draw. 

Luyando Foundation Girls needed a late Catherine Mulenga goal to see off Kamfisa Police Blue Eagles in a five goal thriller played at Shamuel Ground in Makeni. 

Queens Academy have officially been relegated from the FAZ Women’s Super Division joining Chipata Girls and Kabwe Celtic Queens.
