Arrows coronation delayed, Power thump Forest…Wins for Maite, Kansanshi, Trident, ZANACO and ZESCO

Red Arrows will have to wait for at least a few more days for their coronation after they were handed a 1-0 loss by Kabwe Warriors.

The Zambia Air Force sponsored outfit need only a point to seal their 3rd League title.

Heading into week 31 of action, Chisi Mbewe and his side were high on morale as they were unbeaten in 17 games and beat Kabwe Warriors to the ABSA Cup title barely 72 hours earlier.

Killian Kanguluma scored the only goal of the game to avenge the ABSA Cup final loss and hand Kabwe Warriors a well deserved win.

Elsewhere, Power Dynamos thumped Forest Rangers 5-0 to record the biggest scoreline on Wednesday afternoon.

Austin Muwowo returned to haunt his former side as he netted a brace while Joshua Mutale, Moses Phiri and Mulambia chipped in with a goal each.

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers edged Nkwazi to boost their survival hopes. Tresor Ilunga scored the only goal of the game in the 9th minute.

The win means, Wanderers have now moved out of the relegation Zone and, up to 12th place with 37 points.

Dave Daka’s lone strike was enough as Kansanshi Dynamos edged Mutondo Stars to improve their chances of surviving relegation.

ZESCO United beat FC MUZA 2-1 with goals from Enock Sakala Jnr and Dennis Nya. Andrew Phiri pulled one back for FC MUZA from the penalty spot.

Prison Leopards played to a goalless draw with NAPSA Stars which means they now need to win all their remaining games to stand a chance of surviving relegation.

Week 31 action continues tomorrow as Nkana and Green Buffaloes go ahead to head at Edwin Imboela Stadium.
