Arab Bank congratulates President Lungu

THE Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA)has extended heartfelt congratulations to President-elect and incumbent Head of State His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu on his re-election.

Director General Sidi Ould TAH says the Bank hopes that Zambia under President Lungu’s wise leadership will proceed on the path of progress and prosperity.

Dr. TAH assures President Lungu that BADEA will spare no effort to promote and consolidate the developed cooperation between Zambia and the Bank through all the years, for enhancing the social and economic development of the people of Zambia.

This is contained in a letter addressed to the President dated 25th August, 2016 and sent from the Bank’s headquarters in the capital city of the Republic of Sudan, Khartoum.

‘’We seize this opportunity to assure Your Excellency that the Arab Bank For Economic Development in Africa (BADEA)will spare no effort to promote and consolidate the cooperation which has developed between your esteemed country and BADEA through all the years for enhancing the social and economic development for the people of Zambia.’’

“Wishing you every success, please accept, Mr. President, my highest consideration and profound respect,’’ Dr TAH said.

BADEA is a financial institution owned by 18 Arab countries, who are members of the League of Arab States (LAS). The Bank began its operations in March 1975 following the resolution of the 6th Arab Summit Conference at Algiers on 28 November 1973 (www.badea.org).
