Acting President Confers with Top UK Envoy

At a time doomsayers are professing a deteriorated relationship between Zambia and the United Kingdom, Acting President Inonge Wina has held a fruitful meeting with United Kingdom Prime Minister’s Trade Envoy to Zambia and Angola Baroness Lindsay Northover at State House.

The two leaders touched base on wide ranging issues involving the two countries.

Recently cynics made a feast of the United Kingdom having frozen funding over the Social Cash Transfer scandal but President Edgar Lungu moved swiftly to clean up with Community Development Minister Emerine Kabanshi fired in the process.

The two countries have been mending fences in the aftermath of the scandal.
