TEVETA closes 7 higher learning institutions that were illegally offering mining courses

The Technical Education Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority-TEVETA- has closed 7 higher learning institutions that were illegally offering courses in mining operations.

Speaking after closing the said institutions in Kitwe today, TEVETA Information, Education and Communications Manager Clive Siachiyako said the institutions have been conducting courses illegally without being registered with TEVETA.

Mr. Siachiyako says TEVETA has observed with concern the high number of institutions that are operating illegally in the country further stating that the contributing factor for most accidents in the mining sector are individuals that are trained by unregistered institutions.

Some of the institution that have been closed are Northern Polytechnic College, Candy Machines Zambia, Operator Training School and Construction, Grand Training Centre, CBS Tuition Centre, KBM Heavy Equipment’s Operations Training Centre and Siglo Operators Training Centre.
