Children of late Freedom Fighters says Zulu will be remembered for his distinguished service he tendered to Zambia

Lusaka (19-08-2020) Children of late former freedom fighters on Wednesday paid homage to late  Grey Zulu whom they described as one of the greatest freedom fighters whi contributed greatly to emancipation of Zambia.
The Children of later freedom fighters who also presented a token of appreciation to the widow for the distinguished service her husband Zulu rendered to Zambia told journalists that they hail from the background of honest, humility, integrity and high moral fibres.
As sons and daughters of former ministers and ministers of state, we would like to see the legacy left behind by our forefathers to continue not only from children but also all citizens of this great nation, Zambia,” Madalitso Kamanga told journalists in an interview.
Kamanga who is the son of the first vice Republican president, Reuben Chitandika Kamanga said Zambia was a great nation owing to its past record of peace which culminated into peaceful transition of power from the successive governments over the years.
Kamanga Jr said for many years, the people of Zambia have lived as one and sees no reason why they could separate now.
He said the late freedom fighters coined the slogan of one Zambia and one nation to signify the need for the people to continue living as one for many years to come.
We are one people and we have only one country called Zambia our forefathers left behind for us and we have no where else to go apart from living in Zambia,” he said.
And late freedom fighter Simon Kapwepwe’s eldest daughter Chileshe told journalists late Zulu was one of the greatest freedom fighters who contributed greatly to the struggle for Zambia’s independence.
Ms Kapwepwe said the struggle for independence was a collected responsibility for all those people that took the mantle to liberate Zambia upon themselves.
Chileshe observed that there are many people that took part in the liberation of this country save that some are not mentioned because these were foot soldiers.
She said as children of former freedom fighters, it is their responsibility to ensure that what their parents did, not only to unite Zambia but also free it from the shackles of slavery does not die with their parents.
She said as a token of appreciation was present to the surviving partners of one of the greatest freedom fighters Zambia has had, the people should fight for the continued unit which was the desire of the forefathers that fought for independence along with Zulu.
Kapwepwe want the legacy of integrity, honesty and truthfulness to continue to reign in Zambia saying this was the desire of the forefathers when they stood for Zambia under one Zambia one nation motto.
She said the envelope which was presented to Mrs. Zulu was a contribution from Madalitso Kamanga, son of first vice president of Zambia, Chileshe Kapwepwe, daughter of late Simon Kapwepwe, from the Mainza Chona family,  Doris Changufu, daughter of late Lewis Changufu, the  Mwanashiku family and Mando Mwale, son of Steak Mwale.
