ZUAPD URGES MEMBERS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MSME

By Justine Akakulubelwa:

The Zambia Union of All Persons with Disabilities – ZUAPD has encouraged people living with disabilities to take advantage of the newly created Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises to better their lives.

ZUAPD President Pascol Mulenga says the new ministry provides people with disabilities an opportunity to venture into business and reduce vulnerability.

Mr. Mulenga, who is also a senior lecturer at David Livingstone College of Education, has thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for abolishing some ministries that he says did not add value to the Zambians.

He has appealed to people living with disabilities, complaining over the non-appointment of the disabled in the new cabinet, to give President Hichilema time.

Mr. Mulenga says there are still many senior government positions such as permanent secretaries where people with disabilities can be appointed to and add value to the governance of the country.
